About Us

The Downingtown West High School Girls’ Flag Football club team is an exciting and competitive program for high school girls attending Downingtown West or Downingtown STEM Academy (West-affiliated students only). As a fast-growing sport, flag football offers an opportunity for athletes of all skill levels to develop their game, build teamwork, and compete at a high level—all while having fun.

The team is dedicated to fostering athletic excellence, leadership, and sportsmanship in a supportive and inclusive environment. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or new to the game, we welcome you to join us on the field, sharpen your skills, and be part of a growing tradition of girls’ flag football in Downingtown.

Come be part of the movement—fast, fierce, and flag football strong!

Involvement

Practices will be held at or around the Downingtown Middle School practice fields 2-3 times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 5:15 to 6:30 PM. These structured sessions will provide players with the opportunity to enhance their skills and deepen their understanding of flag football through a combination of drills, scrimmages, and gameplay.

Recognition as a Varsity Sport

Downingtown Area School District (DASD) has a multi-year process for recognizing new PIAA varsity sports. Having strong participation over this time period is the best way to demonstrate to the DASD school board that sustained demand exists and is worthy of promotion to a varsity sport. So, come out and play!
